Seas of flowers in GZ await you to explore

Guangzhou, a place reputed as city of flowers, has entered a season of blossoms.


SilkRoadPost has prepared a list of spots for floral enthusiasts to take photos of different varieties of flowers. Feel free to add them to your spring collection.


1.Cherry blossoms


Locales: Baomo Garden, the second phase of Haizhu Wetland Park, Shiba Luohan (Eighteen Arhats) Mountain Forest Park

In Baomo Garden, a cherry blossom festival which includes two domestic self-bred varieties is ongoing.


The “Guangzhou” cheery blossoms, take up 94% of the flowers for display, are expected to bloom from mid-March to mid-April, while the “China Red” is already in full bloom. The garden has also marked some picture-perfect spots for visitors.


In the second phase of Haizhu Wetland Park, a myriad of “Guangzhou” cheery blossoms also hog the limelight, as they glitter under the sun accompanied by soft pink petals and golden stamens.


Meanwhile, a gala themed on cherry blossoms will take place on March 15 in Shiba Luohan Mountain Forest Park of Nansha. Famous figures from quyi (a traditional Chinese performing art that includes storytelling, crosstalk, clapper talk, ballad singing and more) and film and television industry will be invited as well. Additionally, there will be 18 pianos playing music, alongside cultural and creative products and a food market.


2.Bauhinia variegata


Locale: Haizhu Wetland Park


During early and mid-March, bauhinia variegata in Haizhu Wetland Park will enter its peak of flowering period, allowing people to stroll along a 3.2-kilometer floral pathway down the bank of Shiliugang River.


Now, an ancient-style festival themed on flowers is underway, which brings together a raft of antiquated performances, presenting a feast of springtime romance.


3.Wisteria sinensis


Locales: Tianluhu Forest Park, Shanzhuang Lvshe (Lodge Resort) of Baiyun Mountain, Maofeng Mountain Scenic Spot, Baiyun Children’s Park, Panyu Children’s Park


Wisteria sinensis is listed as national second-class protected plant.


A cultural and tourism festival is held in Tianluhu Forest Park to welcome visitors for admiring the scarce flowers. Optionally, they can head to the corridor of Panyu Children’s Park to appreciate them hanging from the pergola or vines.


4.Rapeseed flower


Locale: Guantan Agricultural Park


In the park, 139 mu of rapeseed flowers are in peak bloom, attracting crowds of shutterbugs to snap photos with cameras or drones.


To further facilitate visitors, the park has added a number of amenities, including a viewing platform, public restrooms and a parking lot.


5.Galsang flower


Locale: Huangpu Innovation Park


In Guangzhou's Huangpu Innovation Park, the vibrant Galsang flowers are in full bloom, resembling scattered specks of paint across the ground. Following the paths through the flower fields, visitors can not only enjoy a close-up view of the flowers, but also witness butterflies and bees dancing gracefully among the blossoms.


6.Water lilies


Locale: Tianhe Wetland Park


With a gentle breeze brushes by, the water lilies sway softly, releasing waves of subtle fragrance.


On the grass by the pond, a lot of visitors have pitched tents to admire the flowers while feeling the outdoor scenery.
